You have to check with the provider whether the server supports IMAP and simply re-add your account with the IMAP settings they recommend (obviously you need to stop using the account as POP at the same time). I see no reason whatsoever to stay on POP. Plus, you have a true sync across devices.Īnother huge advantage: if your Outlook identity gets badly corrupted, you don't loose anything from the account: it's all on the server. IMAP works just fine and eliminates all these issues of redownloading emails, or backlogs of old emails you eventually need to go and delete from the server, etc. I've moved away from POP the minute IMAP was available on the servers I used (20 years ago now?) and never looked back. ![]()
